I am trying to finish up gathering and putting together information on foreign debt. So far I have information on how much we, the United States, owe the world and how much of that goes to foreign countries. Out of all the money we owe 33% of it to other countries, then out of all of that 20.68% goes to China. There are approximately 38 countries that we owe money to. On the topic of bringing it back to TC Roberson, that's simple. What comes from other countries? I think a better question would be, what doesn't? Everyone (most likely) owns stuff from foreign places. You could go ask anyone, they might not know it, but if you know where to look it will say "Made In ..." Books, binders, clothes, etc. Hopefully I am almost done with this, it is becoming less and less interesting. Well, I think I might be done by Wednesday... I hope.
Today is the day to really start thinking up what I am going to do for the visual aspect of the project. I am creating an info graphic to display all the information. When I looked closely at the mug, it said (as most things do today), Made In China. So, I've decided to talk about how much money the US owes China, or any foreign country for that matter. The info graphic will be about just that, how much debt we have, who its all to, and things such as that. We could be getting quite a bit of it all from the US, but nope, we decide to give quite a bit of our responsibility and money to other countries. What do we exactly buy from these foreign countries? Electronics, furniture, cars. clothing, food, gas, nothing that we couldn't make in the US.
Today we started the process of our journalism exam project. For the project we must write, create a broadcast, or create a visual to go along with the item we acquire. Each sophomore was called up to pick an item out of a paper bag. I chose bag #19, in held a plastic green, shamrock covered mug. I have to research the mug and figure out an interesting topic to create a visual about. I honestly think that nothing very interesting can come from a plastic green mug, in fact it would probably be the most boring thing anyone would ever read/look at, most likely they would put it down and walk away and never touch it again. Then again it could be interesting, we will see what I can do.
